Coast Guard SafeTrx
Coast Guard SafeTrx is the official app of the Australian Volunteer Coast Guard (AVCG) and Volunteer Marine Rescue Queensland (VMRQ). This app simplifies vessel registration and trip planning on your smartphone. Registration is straightforward, with the option to plan a trip (Sail plan mode) or activate tracking only (Track only mode). Users can select vessel details, destination, ETA, number of persons onboard, and activity type. The app sends position reports at regular intervals to the server, automatically alerting emergency contacts if the journey exceeds the ETA in Sail Plan mode.
The app allows users to create personalized checklists, send distress calls, and easily start tracking with a single touch. It's important to note that prolonged GPS use can drain the battery significantly.
